Job title: CT Technologist
Job Summary:
The CT Technologist is responsible for operating imaging equipment to assist in the diagnosis and treatment of patients. They produce cross-sectional images of patients' internal organs and tissues for diagnostic purposes.
Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Prepare and position patients for CT scans
2. Operate computerized tomography equipment to produce diagnostic images
3. Monitor patients during scans and ensure their safety and comfort
4. Evaluate images to ensure proper positioning and quality
5. Maintain accurate patient records and ensure patient confidentiality
6. Collaborate with radiologists and other healthcare professionals to interpret images and provide accurate diagnoses
7. Troubleshoot equipment issues and perform routine maintenance
8. Adhere to safety protocols and radiation protection guidelines
Qualifications and Skills:
1. Associate's degree in Radiologic Technology or related field
2. ARRT certification in CT technology
3. State licensure as a Radiologic Technologist
4. Strong communication and interpersonal skills
5. Attention to detail and ability to work independently
6. Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology
7. Experience with PACS and EMR systems
8. Ability to lift and move patients as needed
