Job Summary:
As a CT Technologist in Newport, OR, you will be responsible for operating computerized tomography (CT) scanners to help diagnose and treat patients suffering from various illnesses. You will play an essential role in the healthcare industry by providing diagnostic images of patients' internal organs, bone, and tissue. Responsibilities and Duties:
- Operate radiologic equipment to take high-quality CT images of patients
- Review patients' medical history to ensure that the procedure is safe and appropriate
- Position the patient correctly and make sure they are comfortable before proceeding with the CT scan
- Administer contrast material to enhance image quality, when needed
- Communicate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to discuss patients' conditions and scan results
- Develop and maintain a safe and clean working environment
- Follow safety protocols and maintain radiation-protection standards
- Provide compassionate care to patients, ensuring a high level of patient satisfaction
- Manage and maintain CT equipment to ensure high-quality images
- Perform any other related duties as assigned
Qualifications and Skills:
- Associate's degree in Radiologic Technology or related field from an accredited program
- Active certification in CT
- State radiologic technologist (RT) license
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment with excellent organizational skills
- Ability to handle emergencies and work under pressure
- Attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to work with advanced computer software and electronic medical records (EMR)
