Job Description

Job Title: MRI Technologist

Job Summary: The MRI Technologist is responsible for operating magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) equipment to obtain diagnostic images of patients as directed by physicians. They must ensure the safety and comfort of patients during procedures while producing high-quality images for accurate diagnosis and patient care.

Responsibilities and Duties:

1. Prepare patients for MRI procedures and explain the process to alleviate any concerns.

2. Position patients correctly and operate MRI equipment to capture images according to physicians' orders.

3. Monitor patients during procedures and ensure their safety at all times.

4. Maintain accurate patient records and documentation of procedures.

5. Collaborate with radiologists to review images and provide additional views if necessary.

6. Perform routine maintenance on MRI equipment to ensure proper functioning.

7. Adhere to all safety protocols and radiation protection guidelines.

8. Keep abreast of new technology and developments in MRI imaging.

Qualifications and Skills:

1. Associate's degree in radiologic technology or a related field.

2. Certification in MRI technology preferred.

3. State licensure or certification as a radiologic technologist.

4. Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology.

5. Excellent communication and patient care skills.

6. Attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately.

7. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.

8. Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and on-call shifts as needed.
