Job Title: Nuclear Medicine Technologist
Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Nuclear Medicine Technologist to join our team. The Nuclear Medicine Technologist will be responsible for preparing and administering radioactive drugs for diagnostic imaging procedures, operating imaging equipment, and providing patient care during procedures. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of nuclear medicine technology and excellent communication skills.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Prepare and administer radioactive drugs for diagnostic imaging procedures
- Operate imaging equipment such as PET scanners and gamma cameras
- Position patients for imaging procedures and provide care and support during examinations
- Monitor patients for adverse reactions to radioactive drugs
- Process and analyze imaging data for interpretation by radiologists
- Maintain accurate records of procedures and patient information
- Ensure proper storage and disposal of radioactive materials
- Adhere to safety protocols to minimize radiation exposure to patients and staff
Qualifications and Skills:
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in nuclear medicine technology
- Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist (CNMT) certification
- Current state licensure as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist
- CPR certification
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced healthcare environment
