Job Title: Radiation Therapist (Radiology Oncology)
Job Summary:
As a Radiation Therapist in the field of Radiology Oncology, you will be responsible for administering radiation therapy treatments to patients with cancer under the supervision of a radiation oncologist. You will provide compassionate care, ensure the safety and comfort of patients during treatment, and work closely with a multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality care.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Administer radiation therapy treatments according to the prescribed treatment plan
- Monitor and assess patient reactions to treatment and communicate any concerns to the radiation oncologist
- Maintain accurate treatment records and documentation
- Ensure the safety and well-being of patients throughout the treatment process
- Collaborate with radiation oncologists, medical physicists, and other healthcare professionals to develop individualized treatment plans
- Educate patients and their families on the treatment process and potential side effects
- Stay up-to-date on new technologies and treatment techniques in the field of Radiation Oncology
Qualifications and Skills:
- Associate's degree or certificate in Radiation Therapy from an accredited program
- ARRT certification in Radiation Therapy
- State licensure as a Radiation Therapist
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Compassionate and empathetic approach to patient care
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and team-oriented environment
- Attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills
- Experience with treatment planning software and radiation therapy equipment
