Job Summary: The Continuous Improvement Manager leads and manages continuous improvement projects and Lean activities throughout the Facility to accomplish measurable business process improvements; employs Lean Enterprise methodology and analytics into organizational operations to accomplish business objectives; and works with other functional leaders in the planning, designing, and accomplishing of key projects. This person will provide tactical/strategic implementation of all elements of the LFH Business System encompassing practical application of lean operations, operational excellence and six sigma tools and processes across all aspects of the business. In this position, successful candidates will make immediate contributions through enhancing key business processes that add value to Our Customers, Our Stakeholders and Our Employees. The focus will be on improving operational excellence aspects of commercial operations, manufacturing operations and supply chain regarding Safety, Quality, Delivery, Productivity/Efficiency and overall Profitability.
Responsibilities:
Continuous Improvement Coordination:
- Coordinate the activities related to continuous improvement of LFH Production processes with responsibility for results, including cost, quality, and effectiveness.
- Lead cross-functional teams tasked with development and maintenance of companywide processes and procedures.
Process Improvement:
- Identify process improvement opportunities within the company by analyzing metrics and KPIs.
- Use appropriate problem-solving tools to provide rapid improvement with sustainable results.
Relationship Building:
- Develop good working relationships with employees, using a collaborative approach to ensure overall success.
- Drive culture change and fact-based decision making throughout the organization.
Shop Floor Management:
- Promote and facilitate shop floor workflow analysis and create/implement standard work to achieve improvement priorities.
- Promote, oversee, and drive 5S throughout the facility, working with Production Manager, Leads, and Employees to ensure all departments achieve a minimum 5S score of 80%.
- Promote, oversee, and drive the success of Gemba throughout the facility.
Documentation and Training:
- Work with production leads to maintain process standard documentation.
- Develop training materials and operational SOPs.
- Educate, engage, and empower future leaders by creating and facilitating lean daily management training and development programs.
