What are the responsibilities and job description for the Quality Engineer position at THERM-OMEGA-TECH, INC?
Job Summary: Reporting to the Quality Manger, the Quality Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, and analyzing trends and performance of Quality Assurance protocols in legacy products and new design engagements. The Quality Engineer will plan, implement, and manage adherence of manufacturing and production processes with internal and external quality and regulatory requirements.
Responsibilities:
1. Monitor and Analyze
o Conduct root cause analysis on quality issues using approved structured methods.
o Function as a technical resource in deviations, defect analysis, complaints, establishing sampling plans, assessments, and protocol.
o Generate inspection data for customers as required. (PPAP, PFC, Control Plans, AS9102B).
2. Strategy and Process Development
o Define and develop SOPs and process controls for various functions in the operation.
o Develop key performance indicators, analyze trends and implement improvements to the operation.
o Develop, lead, and evaluate non-conforming material(s) and part(s) while implementing Corrective Actions, as required, for both internal and external requirements
3. Communication and Collaboration
o Provide quality control support to the Machine Shop, Mechanical Assembly, and Electronics assembly with a keen understanding while using SPC/SQC/DOE/ROI abilities. (Pareto chart, Data stratification and FMEA family etc.).
o Utilize technical expertise, communication, and project management skills in collaboration with internal team members, customers, suppliers, and contract service providers.
o Aid in resolution of complex issues through collaboration with internal and external parties (Operations, Manufacturing, Engineering, Suppliers, Customers).
4. Compliance
o Participate in audits of Suppliers/Contract Service Providers.
o Support contract review activities, specifically understanding quality requirements.
5. Systems and Functions
o Maintain knowledge and understanding of Quality Management Systems (QMS) based on AS9100D and ISO 9001:2015 standards.
o Manage RMA functions and liaise with Engineering to determine RCA of field failures and post-delivery issues.
o Manage activities and timelines associated with supporting new business, R&D, and continuous improvement objectives.
