Braze Specialist

The Brazing Specialist will use brazing techniques to ensure the integrity and reliability of semiconductor products. This position demands a deep understanding of brazing methods, materials, and equipment, as well as a keen eye for detail and quality assurance.

Key Responsibilities:

• Optimize brazing processes for assembly components, considering material compatibility, thermal requirements, and joint integrity.
• Monitor and maintain brazing equipment to ensure optimal performance and adherence to safety standards.
• Identify brazing issues and implement corrective actions to improve process reliability and yield.
• Evaluate and select brazing materials suitable for assembly parts, considering factors such as thermal conductivity, coefficient of thermal expansion, and compatibility.
• Prepare metal surfaces for brazing by cleaning, degreasing, and applying flux or brazing paste to promote bonding.
• Conduct visual and non-destructive testing (NDT) inspections of brazed joints to verify conformity to specifications and standards.
• Learn new brazing technologies, materials, and techniques relevant to Therm-x standards.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement best practices and drive operational excellence in brazing operations.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience in brazing operations within the semiconductor industry, with a strong understanding of metallurgy, heat transfer principles, and vacuum systems.
• Proficiency in brazing techniques such as torch brazing, induction brazing, with hands-on experience in operating brazing equipment and furnaces.
• Familiarity with and semiconductor manufacturing standards (e.g., ISO, SEMI).
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail, with the ability to troubleshoot brazing issues and implement effective solutions.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
• Adherence to safety protocols and a commitment to maintaining a clean and organized work environment.
• Certification in brazing processes (e.g., AWS Brazing Inspector) is a plus.
