Position Summary:
Responsibilities
This position will report to the Engineering Manager and assist the design engineering team with the documentation and testing of dehumidifiers, air movers, and heating products or their components. Support senior mechanical designers and engineers with product and testing documentation. Must be familiar with a variety of engineering concepts, practices, and procedures and able to read and interpret engineering drawings. The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, industrious and proactive. Duties may include:
- Document using CAD to create part, assembly and drawing files.
- Design and detail components/assemblies as it relates to the manufacture of high end residential and light commercial products.
- Implement Engineering Change Orders (ECOs) for product releases and component revisions of drawings and Bill of Materials (BOM).
- Hands-on involvement and ability to verify fit, form and function of design intent.
- Follow, advocate and govern established standards and procedures to create and maintain Product Data Management (PDM) system documentation.
- Work cross-functionally with Design Engineering, Operations, Manufacturing Engineering, Purchasing, Quality, Service and suppliers.
- Actively pursuing a Bachelors or Associates Degree from an accredited college or university in Mechanical Design or equivalent field
- Proficient using new version of SolidWorks to create parts, assemblies, and drawings
- Proficient in Microsoft Office products. (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Experience with sheet metal, welded metal and molded plastic design with proven expertise in one or more
- Experience with measuring, hand and power tools
- Proven ability to work cross-functionally with salaried and hourly at all levels of the organization
- Strong project management skills, able to manage multiple projects simultaneously, and change priorities frequently
- Strong communication and problem solving skills
- Able to read engineering drawings
