Job Description
The EDI Analyst is responsible for managing the Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) systems and processes within the organization. They collaborate with internal stakeholders, trading partners, and IT teams to ensure efficient and accurate exchange of electronic data. The EDI Analyst plays a crucial role in implementing and maintaining EDI systems, troubleshooting issues, and optimizing EDI processes for improved operational efficiency.
Job Location: This position is eligible for a hybrid schedule based out of Deerfield, IL. Effective mid-2025, Fortune Brands will transition to a new world-class campus in Deerfield, bringing together associates from across our U.S. offices, brands, and functions. The campus will offer vibrant workspaces for collaboration, along with amenities for dining, onsite daycare, fitness and recreation.
RESPONSIBLIITIES:
What you will be doing
- Trading Partner Coordination: Collaborate with trading partners to establish and maintain EDI connections, define data requirements, and ensure smooth data exchange.
- EDI Mapping and Integration: Develop, maintain, and update EDI maps and integration solutions with PeopleSoft ERP to enable seamless data transmission.
- Data Transactions: Facilitate the exchange of EDI transactions, such as customer/vendor/carrier orders, invoices, and shipping notices.
- EDI Compliance: Ensure compliance with industry-specific EDI standards and work with trading partners to align with their requirements.
- Issue Resolution and Support: Investigate and resolve EDI-related issues, collaborating with stakeholders and IT teams to minimize disruptions.
- Process Improvement: Continuously evaluate and enhance EDI processes, identify automation opportunities, streamline workflows, and optimize data accuracy and timeliness.
- Testing and Validation: Conduct thorough testing and validation of EDI transactions to ensure data integrity and adherence to specifications.
- Documentation and Training: Maintain comprehensive documentation, including EDI standards, procedures, and trading partner specifications, and provide training and support to internal teams on EDI processes and tools.
- Stay Updated on Industry Trends: Stay abreast of emerging technologies, industry best practices, and regulatory changes related to EDI and recommend relevant updates and improvements.
Qualifications
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
- In-depth knowledge of EDI standards, protocols, and mapping.
- Strong understanding of trading partner coordination and data exchange processes.
- Experience in troubleshooting EDI-related issues and collaborating with cross-functional teams.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills with a keen attention to detail.
- Effective communication skills to interact with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and adapt to changing requirements.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
- 3-5 years of work experience in systems or an IT related field.
- Experience with Epicor EDI HQ, AS2 Complete, CommerceHub, Logicbroker, SPS Commerce, use of APIs, and other integration platforms such as Dell Boomi a plus.
Additional Information
Fortune Brands believes in fair and equitable pay. A reasonable estimate of the base salary range for this role is $70,000 - $95,000 USD. Please note that actual salaries may vary within the range, or be above or below the range, based on factors including, but not limited to, education, training, experience, professional achievement, business need, and location. In addition to base salary, employees will participate in either an annual bonus plan based on company and individual performance, or a role-based sales incentive plan.
