Job Summary :
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Principal Engineer to lead our Data Center Cooling initiatives. In this crucial role, you will provide expert guidance and strategic recommendations that significantly impact our engineering endeavors and R&D activities. You will have a deep understanding of technical specifications related to modular chiller plants, ensuring effective project management while serving as the primary contact for collaboration among project managers, workshops, vendors, and clients.
Key Responsibilities :
- Provide engineering expertise and design development for assigned projects while implementing value engineering principles.
- Assist the Sales team with technical reviews of proposals and offer additional technical support as needed.
- Drive process improvements including DCAP, procurement packages, DDTS, engineering automation, and earned value reporting.
- Utilize the Deviation Management System (DMS) efficiently and ensure timely processing by you and your reports.
- Foster communication with manufacturing facilities to facilitate continuous improvement of products.
- Monitor and forecast engineering manhour expenditures monthly.
- Collaborate with scheduling teams to assess resource needs; participate in the recruitment and training process for essential resources.
- Engage with customers during the project lifecycle, overseeing installation, commissioning, and warranty phases.
- Provide technical direction and inspire leadership qualities within your team, promoting skill enhancement and recommending relevant training opportunities.
- Oversee mechanical and structural design adherence to customer specifications and industry standards.
- Prepare requisitions for long lead items, specialty products, and accessories.
- Generate comprehensive Installation and Operations Manuals for client submission.
- Innovate design concepts aimed at cost reduction and process efficiency.
- Maintain successful customer relationships and perform other tasks as assigned.
- Support initiatives for cost reduction to improve competitiveness and productivity across engineering.
Education :
Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Chemical, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering.
Experience :
A minimum of 15 years relevant experience in the industry, with extensive technical knowledge in Modularization, Chillers, and Cooling Systems.
Strong leadership skills with excellent communication abilities to motivate teams and provide clear direction, complemented by outstanding organizational and analytical skills.
Proficient in technical writing and able to perform effectively under deadlines.
