What are the responsibilities and job description for the Industrial Heat Treat Technician - Tulsa position at Thermal Specialties?
Thermal Specialties is looking for a Industrial Heat Treat Technician for our Construction Services division in Tulsa, OK. The purpose of this position is to: 1.) Work with Construction Services peers to effectively execute projects. 2.) Provide expert knowledge in combustion systems to engineering/estimator on new projects. 3.) Work with estimator to establish project budgets and work to attain. 4.) Work to provide minimum downtime to our customers.
Role and Responsibilities:
- Work in a safe manner, making sure that all necessary precautions are taken. Maintain diligence in enforcing safety requirements throughout the organization
- Meet or exceed customer requirements for projects. Work with engineering and management to provide feedback when opportunities for improvement arise
- Provide feedback to engineer/estimator when goals are not believed to be attainable. Provide feedback on lessons learned when goals are missed. Work with customers to insure additional work is properly accounted for on invoices
- Provide a preventative maintenance program to insure requirements of heat treat quality system are met. Insure that all equipment is properly and consistently maintained in a pro-active manner
- Make sales calls in person, via phone, or e-mail as necessary to insure close relationships with key accounts.
Qualified Candidates must possess:
- Preferred (but not required) 3 plus years of experience in control and combustion systems
- Ability to work closely with engineering to assist in project bidding/design/improvement activities
- Ability to troubleshoot problems and identify workable solutions
- Education must be a high school diploma or equivalent
- Ability to interface one-on-one with customers to provide solutions and positive relationships.
- Valid driver’s license
Physical Demands:
- 50% travel to be expected (in and out of state)
- Ability to lift 50 lbs. Must be able to work in extreme high/low temperatures and a physically demanding environment
- Frequently required to stand for long periods of time
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus
