Our consulting firm is seeking experienced mechanical engineers for design and analysis projects in industrial, commercial, and institutional facilities.
Responsibilities: Work individually or as part of a team to carry out all aspects of the design process including:
- Perform concept development, design, and analysis for projects including: manufacturing processes, boiler plants, chilled water plants, HVAC systems, combined heat and power plants, etc.
- Meet with clients to determine project scope, background data, equipment preferences
- Conduct facility energy audits
- Visit field to determine existing conditions, meet with contractors and code officials
- Determine best methods to solve customer's problems or needs
- Make equipment selection using manufacturers' information
- Prepare designs and details using three dimensional AutoCAD
- Prepare and edit technical specifications
- Prepare construction cost estimates
- Knowledge of mechanical and electrical code issues, construction methods
- Perform construction administration, including answering contractor questions, field visits to review construction status
- BS or MS mechanical, aerospace, chemical, or architectural engineering degree required (ABET accredited)
- Minimum of 2 years' experience required; 3-10 years' preferred
- Strong computer skills with AutoCAD/Revit/modeling experience
- Excellent critical thinking, communication, collaboration, and time management skills
- Ability to work independently and research design issues with available resources
- Curiosity to learn and grow
- Successful completion of the FE exam preferred but not required at time of hire
- Eligible to work in the US without the need for current or future sponsorship
