Description
Thermcraft is seeking a skilled CNC Laser Programmer/Operator with expertise in laser systems to join our production team. The successful candidate will be responsible for programming, setting up, and operating CNC laser cutting machines to produce high-quality metal fabrications according to specifications.
Key Responsibilities:
• Program and operate CNC laser cutting machines to produce parts and assemblies as per technical drawings and specifications.
• Select proper cutting parameters based on material type and thickness to ensure precision and efficiency.
• Perform regular machine maintenance and troubleshooting to ensure optimal performance and minimal downtime.
• Monitor the production process and adjust machine settings as needed to achieve high-quality, precision cuts.
• Read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints to understand job requirements and specifications.
• Collaborate with the production team to plan, layout, and execute fabrication projects.
• Maintain a safe and clean working environment in compliance with company and safety regulations.
• Document and maintain records of machine operations and production outputs.
Requirements
• High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or degree in CNC machining or related field preferred.
• Proven experience as a CNC laser operator, specifically with Amada laser systems.
• Strong understanding of CAD/CAM, AutoCad, Solidworks, PDM Vault, Striker Nesting software and proficient in programming for CNC machining.
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical documents and drawings.
• Excellent attention to detail and precision, with a strong focus on quality and productivity.
• Good communication skills and the ability to work well in a team environment.
• Flexibility to work shifts and overtime as needed.
Physical Requirements:
• Must be able to stand for extended periods.
• Capable of lifting and maneuvering materials up to 50 pounds.
• Able to work in a manufacturing environment involving exposure to noise, dust, and varying temperatures.
