Job Title: Field Service Engineer (FSE)
Location: US - Franklin, MA or Madison, WI - Remote
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Field Service Engineer (FSE) to join our team in North America. As a key member of our EPM team, you will be responsible for commissioning, repairing, and maintaining instruments throughout North America supporting our Chemical Analysis Division.
You will work closely with customers to resolve technical issues and optimize their processes. The role involves frequent travel to customer sites, working in a variety of environments, and collaborating with internal partners to improve processes.
Daily Responsibilities
- Provides onsite commissioning of instruments, repairs, upgrades, updates, and preventive maintenance.
Working Conditions
- Frequent travel to customer site is required (targeted 70-75% utilization).
- Works both remotely at home and in a variety of customer environments dependent on application (Oil & Gas, Chemical Plants, BioPharma, etc.).
- Required to lift up to 50 lbs.
- May be required to stand for long periods of time while performing duties.
- Works safely with chemicals and hazardous materials.
Requirements
- Uses effective questioning to identify customer needs.
- Exercises judgment setting work priorities and identifies next steps.
- Requires minimal supervision.
- Participates as a positive influence to the team.
- Quickly adapts to change with positive and constructive feedback.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, biology, chemistry, or a related field preferred. Equivalent work experience and knowledge can be taken into consideration.
- 3 years of field service experience with related science, engineering, and customer service skills preferred.
- Commissioning, preventive maintenance, and repair experience with spectroscopy instrumentation (with FTIR experience preferred).
