Position Summary:

We are seeking a highly dedicated Buyer/Planner III to join our dynamic team in Greenville, NC USA. This role plays a vital part in maintaining the smooth operation of our supply chain, reducing inventory levels, and ensuring timely material availability while adhering to our processes.
What will you do?
Always be aware of the S&OP process.
Secure all purchases within the S&OP plan, including providing PDS support.
Monitor the MRP and convert MRP output to purchase orders.
Develop and monitor MRP parameters in line with minimum inventory levels for timely material availability.
Communicate MRP issues with the Master Planner, Detailed Scheduler, or Demand-Capacity Analyst.
Monitor customer-supplied API/Bulk and issue purchase orders.
Determine impact/action plans for held/rejected raw materials and components.
Monitor inventory levels against target levels, checking material availability within defined inventory levels and agreed supplier lead times.
Propose changes in defined minimum inventory levels based on actual supplier lead times.
Maintain and monitor inventory levels, reporting slow-moving and obsolete items to DSCM.
Follow up on necessary documentation (e.g., C of A’s, purchase specs, etc.).
Back up all planner/buyer functions.
Always work safely and responsibly to build an injury-free and incident-free workplace.
Align with all job-related safety and other training requirements.
Perform other duties as assigned.
How will you get here?
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent in minimally required. Bachelor’s degree in Science, Business, Production, or a related field is highly preferred.
Experience:
At least 3 years of supply chain/procurement experience, with the possession of a Bachelor's degree.
OR 4 years of supply chain/procurement experience, with the possession of an AA/AS degree.
OR at least 5 years of supplychain/procurement experience with no college degree.
APICS Detailed Scheduling & Planning certification and/or 5 years of combined experience in Planning/Buying, Scheduling, Industrial Engineering, Operations, Purchasing, or QA.
Proven understanding of various planning functions relative to manufacturing process capabilities.
Strong proficiency in the use of SAP or similar ERP systems.
Proficient in MS Excel including advanced abilities.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
The preferred candidate should be familiar with a variety of concepts, practices, and procedures. They must have excellent attention to detail and organizational skills, and be a self-starter, mature, independent, and reliable. The capacity to work in a fast-paced environment under pressure, handle multiple tasks, and deliver outcomes is key. Demonstrated ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality, effective time management, and prioritization skills are required. This position demands discretion, independent judgment, and strong interpersonal skills to establish and maintain effective working relationships. Strong verbal and written communication skills, as well as proficiency in Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), are crucial for success in this role.
