Discover Impactful Work:
As a Lead Formulation Technician, you will be responsible for maintaining efficient, productive, and quality oriented discipline within the compressing area. Additionally, you will maintain compliance to department SOP’s, GMP’s, and safety procedures to ensure the department is audit ready.
A Day in the Life:
- Performs 2nd checks for area operators, maintaining smooth flow of materials through the department, staging batch materials and equipment for processing.
- Must interact successfully with other area supervisors, lead operators, process engineers, mechanics and operators to assure smooth business process flow. Compressing area equipment includes: H&K’s, Fette, and Hata Compressing Machines and other miscellaneous area equipment (Dedusters, Metal Detectors, Capsule Polishers).
- Completes BPR & PTR production completion review, SAP transaction/disbursements, and DSC maintenance and data recording.
- In-process 2nd checks such as start-up checks, final weight, nspection and assembly 2nd checks, Cleaning 2nd checks, Set-up equipment and rooms to prepare for processing.
- Review logbook, clean-up and assembly sheets. Review new and revised BPR & PTRs to provide shop floor input. Move materials through the department, including retrieving BPRs from granulation, moving batches to compressing area, taking batches to compressing, removing waste from the area.
- Account for and process controlled substances. Maintain clean equipment storage area.
- Maintain compressing area in clean and orderly state.
- Assure all equipment and misc supplies are available and staged to meet weekly production schedule.
- Monitor room tagging.
- Assist with operator training.
- Help with CAPA and SOP Revision. Operate equipment and/or process product batches as needed per schedule demands.
Keys to Success:
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous computer operation and SAP/PMX knowledge preferred.
- 5 years experience in pharmaceutical compressing is preferred
- Must have full working knowledge of area SOPs and procedures.
- Ability to understand and follow BPR directions.
- Ability to perform math calculations required on BPR, possess mechanical aptitude and equipment knowledge to successfully troubleshoot mechanical faults, possess Patheon license for fork truck and walkie stacker operation.
- Must be able to coach and train other operators in the completion of their work activities and have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Job requires wearing personal protective equipment including tyvek coveralls and various styles of respirators.

Salary : $52,500 - $66,500
