Unity Lab Services provides a single source for integrated lab service, support, and supply management. Our customized service offerings and world-class service experts have the flexibility and experience to uniquely address our customer’s laboratory's business needs.
What will you do?
This position directs the daily workflow for a small team under the direction of the Team Leader enabling the team to consistently deliver high levels of customer service in support of our contractual obligations. Oversee service offerings including but not limited to: lab consumables inventory, order/stockroom/dock management, procurement, material handling and chemical tracking. The main location site will be Bedford, MA but ability to travel to the site in Andover, MA will be required.
Education
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Associate degree in a related field preferred, or a combination of education and experience that demonstrates the required skills. Military Service/Training in lieu of a degree may also be considered.
Experience
2 years of progressive, proven experience required
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
Experience working in laboratory environment required
Requires the ability to lift, push, and pull 30-40 pounds consistently; lift 50 pounds occasionally, including operation and use of pushcarts, pallet jacks, etc.
Regularly required to stand or walk for prolonged periods.
Work areas will include spaces where chemical-based allergens are in use (penicillin, tetracycline, etc.). Depending on the area of the building, personal protective equipment may be required.
Ability to work overtime, as needed.

What will you do?

- Perform laboratory services such as receiving, order delivery, chemical inventory receipt and reconciliation
- Effectively lead a diverse cross-functional team of on-site lab specialists. Support identification of training needs and solutions, and coordinate development training.
- Deliver on committed contractual scope of work. Assist with tracking business metrics.
- Act as liaison between customer and Thermo Fisher Scientific; Coordinate onsite vendor escorting and customer visits as the site subject-matter expert, and act as a resource to identify savings and opportunities.
- Implement SOPs, conduct site audits, and assist with completion of annual physical inventory.
- Drive process improvement culture by supporting Practical Process Improvement (PPI) initiatives.
- Represent Thermo Fisher Scientific at all times throughout customer locations, professionally and positively.
- Be involved with and support safety programs such as hazard identification, conduct inspections and incident reporting/investigations as required.
- May perform other responsibilities as assigned by management
Education

- Demonstrates computer proficiency and possesses intermediate skills in Microsoft Office suite of software.
- Possesses strong analytical abilities to problem solve, make timely decisions, re-balance staff workloads, and coordinate multiple overlapping priorities, while functioning in a fast-paced work environment
- Possesses a strong desire to serve the customer, and the interpersonal skills to collaborate with various levels of personnel at the customer site.
