A day in the Life:
- Collaborate with functional leaders to plan and flawlessly implement sources of supply, supplier management programs, and drive cost savings.
- Handle contract portfolios to ensure commercial obligations are closely met and proactively handle renewals or replacements of existing agreements.
- Demonstrate commodity expertise.
- Produce and handle RFP documents to identify the most suitable sourcing solutions that meet business requirements, and bargain with suppliers for excellent value and cost savings.
- Proactively seek savings opportunities across commodity spend.
- Support process improvements and bold process change initiatives.
- Establish and improve relevant Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Build vendor performance metrics/scorecard and review/report quarterly (minimum).
- Analyze both historical and forecasted usage for materials and establish robust supply chain processes regarding order quantities, replenishment, safety stock levels, etc.
- Understand critical-to-service materials/commodities and assess business risk with sole-sourced vendors. Identify and qualify alternate vendors to mitigate supply disruptions.
- Conduct all activities in a safe and efficient manner.
Keys to Success:
Education
- A four-year, Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited college or university in Business, Management, Engineering or scientific field or equivalent experience.
- Consideration may be given to those who hold 5 years of dynamically responsible and relevant work experience.
Experience
- Must have a proven track record in leading the sourcing and qualification process for 3rd party suppliers, negotiating commercial terms, and managing complex supplier relationships.
- APICS, CPM, CPIM certification preferred.
- Demonstrated track record of strong results.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Analytical experience compiling and reporting spend, discounts, pricing reductions, etc.
- Project management, including the ability to effectively handle multiple tasks.
