How will you make an impact?
Reporting to the Manufacturing Manager, this position is responsible for ensuring successful execution of the day-to-day manufacturing operations associated with the Madison, Wisconsin Spectroscopy business unit. In this role, the Manufacturing Supervisor will lead about 15 direct reports. They will be responsible for all aspects of people management, including performance management and development, conflict resolution, and employee engagement.
What will you do?
- Accomplish Manufacturing staff results by communicating job expectations, implementing process and procedures.
- Complete production plan by scheduling and assigning personnel, prioritizing, supervising progress, revising schedules, resolving problems, and reporting results.
- Maintain staff by hiring, training, and developing for personal growth.
- Ensure systems and consumables are meeting the highest quality by establishing and implementing standards.
- Maintain safe and clean work environment by educating and advising personnel to ensure compliance with established policies and procedures.
- Perform hands on assembly, testing, and training of personnel as the need arises.
- Participate in cross-functional projects for new products and processes.
- Drives Practical Process Improvement (PPI) thinking to assignments continuously driving improvement.
How will you get here?
Education
- High school diploma/GED required.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent experience in engineering, operations management or another technical field.
Preferred Experience
- 3 years of manufacturing experience with dynamic responsibility changes.
- Direct supervisory and people management experience
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
- Understanding and experience with ERP systems to drive efficient and controlled Manufacturing.
- Knowledge of key technologies including vacuum, motion control, etc.
- Experience with 5S, Quality Process Control, and Lean Manufacturing.
- Experience in improving the quality, efficiency, and cost of manufacturing.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
