Safety
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure production equipment complies strictly with regulations and industry standards.
- Identify and rectify unsafe conditions related to electrical safety, shielding, guarding, safety interlocks, and emergency stops.
- Complete safety review checklists for all new equipment and significant changes in processes.
- Perform tasks in compliance with site safety procedures including lock-out-tag-out, hot work, confined spaces, etc.
- Promptly repair production equipment to minimize downtime, guiding maintenance technicians effectively.
- Ensure spare parts are identified and readily available for all production equipment.
- Complete scheduled preventative maintenance tasks and adjust requirements as needed. Partner with the maintenance supervisor to identify improvement opportunities.
- Provide ongoing training and mentorship to production associates and maintenance technicians to ensure accurate equipment operation and maintenance.
- Assist production in updating equipment-related SOPs for accurate instructions.
- Collaborate with engineering and maintenance supervisors on commissioning new equipment, researching technologies, determining specifications, acquiring quotations, and recommending purchases.
- Review PMs for the assigned area, follow up on completion, and collaborate with the planner on scheduling major repairs.
- Identify process improvement opportunities and standard methodologies for technicians.
- Supervise direct reports' attendance and time.
- Establish spare parts needs and preventative maintenance/repairs requirements.
- Lead department morning meetings to address daily issues.
- Support supervisor with purchasing regular spares for the area.

Minimum Requirements/Qualifications
- Associate degree or equivalent experience.
- 5 years of applicable work experience.
- Proficiency in electrical, electronics, and controls technologies used in industrial production equipment, including PLC ladder logic and HMI configuration.
- Ability to fix automated equipment, electronics, sensors, motors, servos, and pneumatics.
- Experience with equipment design, specifications, fabrication, installation, and validation.
- Strong mechanical skills, including mechanical disassembly, repairs, and reassembly of equipment.
- Proficient use of all hand and power tools.
- Strong understanding of mechanical, pneumatic, lubrication, electrical systems, and industrial automation.
- Knowledge of practices and techniques in general construction, repair, and maintenance in a commercial environment.
- Ability to work in multifaceted environments including office, laboratory, hazardous chemical production, cleanroom, general production, warehouse, occasionally outdoors, on rooftops, in mechanical spaces, etc.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally.
