Available Position: Lab Calibration Technician
· Hours: 8:00 A.M. to 4:30 P.M, Monday-Friday
Summary: We are looking for a Lab Calibration Technician to join our A-Team. As a calibration technician, your primary responsibility is to ensure the accuracy and reliability of measurement instruments, gauges, and dimensional tools. You’ll perform calibrations, adjustments, and verifications according to established procedures and standards.

How do our Thermo-Temp lab calibration technicians measure up?
- Precision: Perform calibrations for a range of disciplines including, but not limited to, electronic, electrical, infrared, high voltage, torque, temperature, pressure, mass, dimensional, relative humidity devices, lab equipment, and safety devices.
- Technology: Utilize cutting-edge tools, such as laser interferometers, for high-resolution surface plate calibrations, ensuring unparalleled precision in measurements.
- Standards: Maintain detailed electronic records of calibration results, ensuring compliance with ISO/IEC 17025 standards. Bring any irregularities, discrepancies, or concerns to the supervisor immediately and report out-of-tolerance and failed equipment to appropriate parties.
- Problem-Solving: Troubleshoot and repair measurement instruments as necessary, using technical manuals and schematics, and provide recommendations to resolve issues.
- Collaboration: Engage with internal teams, clients, and vendors to provide technical information and accurately understand expectations.
- Reliability: Conduct regular maintenance and performance checks on measurement and calibration equipment.
- Safety and Environment: Follow all HS&E policies and use 5S methodology in work areas.
- Service: Provide on-site calibration services to clients as needed, ensuring minimal disruption to their operations.
- Knowledge: Stay updated with the latest advancements in metrology and calibration techniques. Devise formulas, with input as needed, to solve problems in measurements and calibrations.
How do you measure up?
- A High School diploma or GED is required.
- An associate degree or equivalent from a two-year college, technical school, or military training in measurement science, calibration, or related field, preferred.
- Knowledge of principles, procedures, methods, and techniques in metrology gained through education, professional experience, or military service (PMEL).
- Calibration experience and training or equivalent combination of education, military training, and experience.
- Grit, persistence, commitment, passion, and enthusiasm for calibration work.
- Proficiency in using the internet, MS Office, and calibration software.
- Exceptional quantitative and analytical skills and PC 10 key proficiency.
- Require little or no supervision (with appropriate training).
- Ability to communicate professionally, both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to explain calibration issues and processes to customers as needed.
- Ability to perform housekeeping, maintenance, and organization of Company equipment and Laboratory.
- Ability to perform lifting of test equipment unassisted (up to 50 lbs.).
- Ability to travel to customer facilities, on occasion, when needed.
- Initiative and interest in learning new skills.
- Ability to manage daily workloads and projects.
