Thetford Elementary School Garden and Compost Manager
Year-round position July - June
Non-Union position
Contracted salary $15,000/year - no benefits
Provide all services to coordinate the school garden and composting program, including:
Optimize K - 6 student involvement
Design gardens with attention to curriculum and cafeteria needs.
Facilitate garden and compost activities with teachers and students.
Coordinate school garden and compost program volunteers and contractors as needed.
Procure all supplies and tools needed for program success
Work 6.5 hours a week
Presence at school one regular half-day per week throughout the school year
Provide all services to coordinate the school garden and compositing program:
Engaging with students
Design gardens with curriculum and food service needs in mind
Facilitate garden and compost volunteers as needed
Facilitate garden and compost activities for teachers and students that align with current curriculum and instruction
Coordinate with school staff a year-round maintenance plan for the gardens and compost system including a school committee that meets regularly.
Coordinate summer garden and compost management.
Ensure annual expenses for garden and compost systems are within allocated budget of $3000/year
Assigns for and collaborates with parent and community volunteers
Salary : $3,000 - $15,000
