Role
The Aftermarket Sales Representative’s primary duty will be to drive sales growth with new and existing customers in the aftermarket segment. They will focus on building customer relationships, understanding their needs, and effectively promoting our products and services. This position is an individual contributor role with no direct reports.
Job Responsibilities
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities within the aftermarket sector, working to expand the customer base and increase market share.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and potential customers to understand their needs and provide tailored solutions.
- Develop a deep understanding of the company’s aftermarket products and services, enabling effective communication of features, benefits, and competitive advantages to customers.
- Execute sales strategies and initiatives to achieve or exceed assigned sales targets and objectives.
- Conduct market analysis to identify trends, competitive activities, and customer preferences, using insights to inform sales tactics.
- Prepare and present detailed sales quotes and proposals, ensuring timely follow-up to secure orders.
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure accurate and timely order processing, from initiation through delivery.
- Maintain accurate records of sales activities, customer interactions, and market feedback, regularly updating management on progress against sales goals.
- Represent the company at industry trade shows and events, showcasing products and building relationships with key stakeholders.
- Performs other relevant duties as assigned, i.e., special projects, programs, and developmental activities.
Requirements
- 1-4 years of experience in sales in the aftermarket segment.
- Proven track record of achieving B2B or B2C sales targets and driving revenue growth.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with customers at all levels.
- Strong negotiation and closing skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively to meet sales goals
- Proficient in MS Office programs such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Self-driven, service-oriented, diligent, adaptable, resourceful, and a well-organized team player.
- Highly result-driven, with great analytical skills, accountability, and, most importantly, integrity.
- A healthy sense of humor.
Preferred Education and Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, or a related field.
- Experience in the RV aftermarket industry.
Work Schedule
This position operates Monday through Friday, from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. However, flexibility is essential, as occasional early morning, evening, weekend, or holiday work may be required based on business needs and collaboration with international teams. The employee is expected to work the hours necessary to fulfill the responsibilities of the role.
Working Conditions
Work primarily occurs in an office setting, involving desk-based activities such as computer use and occasional light walking and lifting tasks. This role will require frequent travel (50% ) to meet with clients or attend industry events.
Compensation And Benefits
Actual compensation packages consider a wide range of factors unique to each candidate, including but not limited to geographic location, skill sets, relevant education and certifications, depth of experience, performance, and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed reasonable estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. At Thetford, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role, and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. The total compensation package for this position may also include an annual performance bonus, medical/dental/vision benefits, 401K match, and/or other applicable compensation plans.
