Dog Walker - Mornings and Evenings

**Job Overview:**

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate individual to join our team as a Dog Walker for a 3-month commitment with an option to extend. This role encompasses various responsibilities including dog walking and training under the guidance of Jennifer, our experienced trainer. As a dog walker at TheTreat Training, you will be asked to create consistent training during your time spent with the dog, reinforcing good behaviors and reshaping unwanted behaviors such as pulling or jumping. **Responsibilities:**

1. **Dog Walking:**

- *Available between 7-8am and / or 7-8pm *

- *Comfortable walking large dog breeds such as Great Pyrenees *

- Learn and execute training methods for effectively reinforcing good behaviors and reshaping unwanted behaviors based on client requests and trainer recommendations

- Communicate promptly and effectively with dog owners to provide updates on walks and with Jennifer to provide insight into the dogs’ behaviors

- Following Instructions: Adhere to specific instructions provided by pet owners regarding their dog's walking routine, dietary restrictions, and any special needs.

- Building Relationships: Develop positive relationships with the dogs in your care, as well as with their owners, fostering trust and open communication.

- Time Management: Manage time effectively to ensure timely arrival for scheduled walks

**Requirements:**

1. **Passion for Dogs:** Genuine love and enthusiasm for working with dogs, dedicated to their well-being and training.

2. **Reliability:** Dependable and punctual, with a strong commitment to fulfilling scheduled walks. Ability to commit to a 3-month duration, with an option to extend.

3. **Communication Skills:** Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to communicate effectively with pet owners and team members. Has a phone that can download apps.

4. **Dog Handling Experience:** Previous experience in dog care, walking, or training is preferred.

5. **Physical Fitness:** Ability to handle dogs of various sizes and energy levels during walks and training sessions.

6. **Positive Attitude:** A positive and patient demeanor, with a willingness to learn and adapt in a dynamic environment.

7. Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to handle unexpected situations or challenges that may arise during walks.

8. Transportation: Has a reliable car and experience driving in different weather conditions. Enjoys being on the road.

Job Types: Part-time, Contract

Pay: $20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 10 – 20 per week
