ROLE OVERVIEW
Thiess is seeking Haul Truck Operators to support our mining team for projects in the US Region. As a haul truck operator, you will be expected to primarily run Liebherr and Caterpillar mining haul / dump trucks alongside other heavy mining equipment in an open-cut mining environment in a safe, productive, and cost-effective manner. With the opportunity to advance into additional operations support equipment.

Under direct supervision, the Haul Truck Operator performs earthmoving and support duties in a Mining environmentJob tasks to include Pre / post trip inspections, fueling of truck and related dutiesJob tasks, correctly performed, impact indirectly on cost containment, efficiency, profitability, or operationsObserves and follows all safety rules and procedures, including wearing PPEPerforms other related duties as assignedREQUIRED EXPERIENCE
Preferred experience with both Electric and Mechanical Haul TrucksDemonstrated ability to achieve results within a team environment with minimal supervision at timesGood oral and written communication skillsHigh level of attention to detail and excellent follow-up skillsThe ability to work in a team environmentAbility and willingness to work different schedule on site based on project needsMinimum of One year experience operating a 100-ton Haul Truck or larger in a mining environmentWork with other project employees to meet the project's safety, environment, and production targetsAuthorization to work lawfully in the USA without sponsorship from Thiess is requiredMust be fluent in the English languageValid US drivers license is requiredPHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Able to lift 50 poundsAble to live and work at high altitudes (12,000 ft. elevation) for a week at a timeAble to work in extreme winter conditions with temperatures regularly below zero degrees FahrenheitAble to stand for extended periods of time up to 4 hoursAble to climb up and starts up to 30 - 50 times per shiftAble to work for extended 12-hour shiftsCan work night shifts (7 p.m. - 7 a.m.) seven days at a time and properly manage fatigueNo auditory or visual impairments restricting the ability to see distances while driving and clearly discern auditory and visual alerts / alarms (not including color blindness)Quick response / reaction timesArm-hand steadiness and manual dexterityMust not exceed equipment manufacturer's weight limit of 350 lbsADDITIONAL INFORMATION
