Job Description :

We are looking for a highly motivated, product-focused DevOps Engineer who is passionate about scaling the development of the ThinkOnward platform. This is a hybrid role, ideal for someone that is comfortable working across Product Engineering, DevOps, and Site Reliability functions.

You thrive in honing your skills to adapt to new technologies and working outside of your comfort zone. You are comfortable being responsible for analysis, design, coding, testing, deployment, and evolving a platform in a fast-paced, test and learn environment.

You will be working on projects that make a tremendous impact for those solving problems in the Geoscience exploration space. You will be powering world-class tools that enable strategic business capabilities for our partners. As a senior technical member of the engineering team, you will help define and evolve the architecture of the ThinkOnward platform. You will partner with Engineering and DevOps to share knowledge, relentlessly problem solve, and look for opportunities to shape our systems to support key business initiatives.

What You'll Do :

Collaborate with a team of brilliant and motivated engineers building a modern cloud-based platform powering products across multiple lines of business.

Establish and implement best practices in Engineering, DevOps, Tooling, and Cloud Architecture

Establish and integrate best-in-class tooling to enable engineering velocity to scale.

Participate in all phases of software engineering including analysis, design, development and testing

Partner with engineers to enable them to build modern, feature-rich product experiences leveraging well-designed APIs and systems.

Write well designed, testable, and clean code by using software development best practices

Be forward thinking – continuously look for opportunities to innovate and share technical solutions and product ideas with the team

What you'll bring :

Strong consensus-building communication skills

Strong and extensive experience designing and deploying systems in cloud-based architectures

Strong experience designing systems with security and reliability best practices

Strong experience deploying and managing IaC architectures (Terraform, CDK, etc)

Strong Experience with AWS (EC2, Autoscaling, Lambda, IAM, S3, SQS, RDS, EKS / ECS)

A mindset to proactively identify and eliminate tech debt at both infrastructure and application level

Experience building and evolving clean APIs leveraging technologies like REST / GraphQL / gRPC

Extensive experience with database systems (relational and document-based DBs) is a big plus

Entrepreneurial / Startup experience is a big plus

Experience :

12 years software engineering experience with expertise in technologies like Python, GoLang, or Java

4 years of with public cloud technologies (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud)

4 year of experience as an architect or tech lead

Bachelor's or Master's degree in a STEM field, or equivalent practical experience

Time Commitment / Travel Requirements

Full-time

Preferred location : Austin, Remote for the right candidate

Up to 10% travel may be required
