Tutor
Status : Part-Time
Pay Rate : $20 / hour
JOB SUMMARY :
Tutors work directly with elementary and / or middle school students to achieve mastery of grade level academic content in small groups. Tutors can support students with class assignments, projects, test prep, or skill building based on student need and / or teacher guidance. Tutors serve as a positive adult role model, coach, and mentor to students, and they must demonstrate a genuine interest in the academic growth and educational achievement of students. Tutors ensure students follow program expectations and utilize the approved behavior management system as necessary.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Provide small group and individualized academic support for students.
- Utilize AVID strategies to support students in goal setting, work habits, and skill building to improve their grades and test scores.
- Create an engaging environment that fosters a sense of belonging for students.
- Serve as a positive adult role model for students in the program by setting and maintaining appropriate boundaries.
- Implement approved behavior management system for students.
