Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Sterile Processing Technician to join our healthcare team in Nampa, ID. The ideal candidate will be responsible for sterilizing, assembling, and maintaining medical instruments and equipment to ensure patient safety and compliance with healthcare regulations.
Responsibilities:
- Decontaminate, clean, inspect, assemble, and sterilize surgical instruments and medical equipment.
- Operate and maintain sterilization equipment such as autoclaves and ultrasonic cleaners.
- Follow strict infection control and sterilization protocols in accordance with hospital policies and regulatory guidelines.
- Perform quality control checks on sterilized equipment to ensure functionality and safety.
- Maintain accurate records of sterilization cycles and inventory levels.
- Collaborate with surgical teams and other healthcare professionals to provide sterile instruments and supplies as needed.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards, including AAMI, AORN, and Joint Commission regulations.
- Monitor and restock sterile storage areas to maintain an adequate supply of instruments and equipment.
- Troubleshoot and report equipment malfunctions or maintenance needs.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Certification as a Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) or Certified Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician (CSPDT) preferred.
- Previous experience in sterile processing or a healthcare setting is a plus.
- Strong knowledge of infection control procedures and sterilization techniques.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
