Job Description:
We are seeking a skilled Medical Lab Technician (MLT) to join our healthcare team in Detroit, MI. The ideal candidate will be responsible for conducting laboratory tests, analyzing results, and ensuring accuracy in diagnostic procedures. This role is crucial in supporting patient care by providing timely and precise lab results to physicians and healthcare providers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform routine and complex laboratory tests on blood, urine, tissue, and other specimens.
- Operate and maintain laboratory equipment, ensuring proper calibration and functionality.
- Analyze test results and report findings to physicians and medical staff.
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of laboratory tests and procedures.
- Follow safety protocols and quality control measures to ensure compliance with laboratory standards.
- Assist in troubleshooting and resolving technical issues related to laboratory testing.
- Adhere to hospital and regulatory guidelines, including HIPAA and OSHA standards.
Requirements:
- Associate's or Bachelor’s degree in Medical Laboratory Technology or related field.
- Certification as a Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) by ASCP, AMT, or equivalent (preferred).
- Minimum 1 year of experience in a clinical laboratory setting.
- Proficiency in using laboratory instruments and software.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a healthcare team.
