Job Description:
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Registered Nurse (RN) - Medical Surgical (Med Surg) to join our healthcare team in Detroit, MI. The ideal candidate will provide compassionate patient care, collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, and ensure a safe and efficient healthcare environment.
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct patient care, including administering medications, monitoring vital signs, and assessing patient conditions.
- Develop and implement individualized patient care plans in collaboration with the healthcare team.
- Assist with wound care, IV therapy, and other medical procedures as required.
- Educate patients and their families on disease management, post-discharge care, and overall health maintenance.
- Maintain accurate and detailed patient records using electronic medical records (EMR) systems.
- Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
- Adhere to hospital policies, procedures, and infection control guidelines.
- Respond to emergencies and provide critical interventions as needed.
- Support a positive and professional work environment, demonstrating strong communication and teamwork skills.
Requirements:
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Michigan.
- Minimum 1 year of Med Surg nursing experience (hospital experience preferred).
- BLS and ACLS certification (must be current).
- Proficiency in EMR systems (experience with EPIC or Cerner is a plus).
- Strong critical thinking, multitasking, and patient care skills.
- Ability to work independently and efficiently in a fast-paced hospital setting.
