Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Progressive Care Unit (PCU) team in Rochester, MI. The ideal candidate will provide specialized care for patients requiring close monitoring and advanced medical attention, bridging the gap between intensive care and general medical-surgical units.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor and assess patients’ conditions, recognizing and responding to changes in patient status.
- Administer medications, treatments, and specialized therapies as prescribed.
- Collaborate with physicians and the interdisciplinary healthcare team to create individualized care plans.
- Operate and monitor medical equipment such as ventilators, cardiac monitors, and IV pumps.
- Educate patients and their families about ongoing care, treatments, and post-discharge instructions.
- Document all nursing activities accurately and in accordance with hospital policies.
- Ensure patient safety by following infection control and patient care protocols.
- Respond effectively to emergency situations, providing critical interventions as necessary.
Qualifications:
- Valid RN license in the state of Michigan.
- Minimum of 2 years of PCU, Telemetry, or ICU experience preferred.
- Current BLS and ACLS certification (required).
- Strong critical thinking, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
