Job Description:
We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Registered Nurse (RN) - Psychiatric & Mental Health to join our team in Syracuse, NY. The RN will play a crucial role in providing direct patient care to individuals experiencing acute and chronic mental health conditions in a behavioral health setting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care plans.
- Monitor and manage patients’ psychiatric symptoms and behavioral health needs.
- Administer medications and provide education on treatment plans.
- Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team, including psychiatrists, social workers, and therapists, to develop and execute treatment plans.
- Utilize crisis intervention techniques to ensure a safe and therapeutic environment.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in compliance with facility policies and regulatory standards.
- Provide emotional support and patient advocacy while promoting recovery-focused care.
Qualifications:
- Active RN license in the state of New York (or compact license).
- Minimum of 1 year of psychiatric/mental health nursing experience required.
- BLS/CPR certification required; CPI or PMCS certification preferred.
- Strong critical thinking, communication, and de-escalation skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment.
