Job Description:
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Sterile Processing Technician to join our team on a contract basis. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the proper decontamination, sterilization, and assembly of surgical instruments and medical equipment. This role is critical in maintaining a safe and sterile environment for patient care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform decontamination, sterilization, and assembly of surgical instruments and medical equipment.
- Adhere to all hospital and industry infection control protocols and sterilization standards.
- Inspect instruments for damage or malfunction and ensure proper functioning before distribution.
- Maintain accurate records of sterilization processes and inventory management.
- Collaborate with surgical teams and other healthcare professionals to ensure timely instrument availability.
- Follow safety procedures and regulatory compliance guidelines to prevent contamination.
Requirements:
- Certification as a Sterile Processing Technician (CRCST or CBSPD preferred).
- Previous experience in sterile processing, central supply, or a related healthcare setting.
- Knowledge of infection control protocols and sterilization techniques.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Flexibility to work night shifts and potential contract extensions.
