Job Description:

Thinking Minds Inc.'s client is seeking an Application Engineer with expertise in controls, power systems, and microgrid technologies to support sales and business development efforts. The ideal candidate will play a key role in designing, optimizing, and proposing technical solutions for projects involving CHP systems, generators, BESS, and microgrids.

Key Responsibilities:
Feasibility Analysis & System Design:

• Conduct feasibility studies to assess the technical and economic viability of onsite power projects.
• Design and specify electrical and control systems, including switchgear, transformers, PLCs, and SCADA integrations.
• Develop one-line diagrams, schematics, and equipment layouts to support proposals.

Pre-Sales Technical Support:

• Collaborate with sales teams to evaluate client needs and propose suitable solutions.
• Prepare cost estimates, technical documentation, and compliance reports.
• Participate in client meetings to present and discuss technical solutions.

Project Handover & Collaboration:

• Develop detailed design packages to transition projects from sales to execution.
• Ensure alignment between sales, engineering, and project management teams.
• Work with vendors and suppliers to select components that meet project specifications.
• Stay current with industry standards, codes, and emerging technologies.
• Provide mentorship and guidance to internal teams on electrical and control system design.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Professional Engineer (PE) license.
• Certifications like Certified Energy Manager (CEM) or Project Management Professional (PMP).
