Ideal Candidate Should Have:
- 2 years of experience in PLC programming, HMI/SCADA development, and electrical design.
- Proficiency in PLC programming using Rockwell, Mitsubishi, Omron, or Siemens.
- Experience with AutoCAD Electrical for control system design.
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation, or a related technical field.
- Knowledge of NEC Code and NFPA 79 standards.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively while managing multiple projects.
- Strong problem-solving, logic, and reasoning skills.
- Authorization to work in the U.S. (citizenship or work authorization required).
Job Description:
Thinking Minds' client is seeking an Automation Controls Engineer to join their industrial automation and controls team. This role involves designing, developing, and implementing control system applications, working both on-site at client facilities and remotely. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and develop control system applications, including PLC programming, HMI/SCADA development, and electrical design.
- Work on motion control, vision systems, robotics, and risk assessments as needed.
- Serve as Lead Engineer on projects, overseeing all technical aspects and coordinating with clients.
- Develop and maintain technical documentation such as functional specifications, meeting minutes, FAT (Factory Acceptance Test), and SAT (Site Acceptance Test).
- Conduct system installations, startups, and testing at client sites.
- Support sales teams by providing labor and equipment estimates for proposals.
- Mentor junior engineers and collaborate with team members.
