- Strong knowledge of SCADA systems, PLCs, and arc flash studies.
- Experience with process design for water treatment or industrial facilities.
- Ability to work independently and mentor junior staff.
- 40-hour HAZWOPER certification (preferred).
- Familiarity with medium voltage utility power design (a plus).
Job Description:
Thinking Minds Inc.'s client is seeking an Electrical Engineer specializing in power system design and control systems. The ideal candidate will support various projects in power distribution, instrumentation, and control system designs, ensuring compliance with industry standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design 277/480V and 120/240V electrical power systems, including conductor and conduit sizing, MCC layout, motor controls, and grounding systems.
- Prepare electrical and control system designs, ensuring adherence to project requirements.
- Perform arc flash studies and contribute to SCADA system operation and design.
- Select instruments to meet process requirements, coordinating with SCADA & PLC systems.
- Conduct field visits for installation, troubleshooting, and commissioning of systems.
- Develop technical specifications, scope of work, and budgets for proposals.
- Act as a technical advisor for electrical and control system designs.
- Oversee construction projects as a client representative.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, maintaining strong relationships with clients and stakeholders.
- Provide mentorship to junior engineers and assist in knowledge sharing within the team.
