Ideal Candidate Should Have
- A Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering and an active P.E. License.
- At least 5 years of experience in the design and construction of steam and power generation plants.
- Expertise in writing equipment specifications for systems such as boilers, pumps, turbine generators, piping systems, air pollution control equipment, and water treatment systems.
- Strong knowledge of ASME Section 1, B31.1, or B31.3 piping codes.
- Hands-on experience with piping materials of construction, stress analysis, and piping system design.
- Familiarity with heat and material balances, general arrangement (GA) drawings, and P&IDs.
- Experience with steam turbines, power boilers, fuel conversions, heat recovery steam generators (HRSGs), and combined heat and power (CHP) systems.
- Strong mentoring skills for junior engineers and an ability to coordinate across teams.
- EPC firm experience in the steam and power industry is highly preferred.

Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate the engineering and design of steam and power generation systems.
- Perform equipment sizing, selection, and specification writing for systems such as boilers, heat exchangers, pumps, and turbines.
- Develop and maintain pipeline lists, valve lists, and piping specialty item lists.
- Oversee the creation of heat and material balances and ensure compliance with relevant codes and standards (e.g., ASME).
- Provide technical expertise for piping systems and stress analysis.
- Mentor and support the development of junior engineers on the team.
- Conduct site visits during project execution to review designs and ensure quality.
- Contribute to the preparation of general arrangement drawings, P&IDs, and other deliverables.
- Support the design of package or power boilers, fuel-conversions, and CHP systems.
- Research and interpret relevant industry codes to ensure project compliance.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (required).
- Professional Engineer (P.E.) License (required).
- Minimum 5 years of experience in steam and power generation design and construction.
- Proven experience in equipment specification for steam and power generation systems.
- Familiarity with boilers, turbines, HRSGs, and related equipment.
- Strong understanding of industry standards such as ASME Section 1, B31.1, and B31.3.
- Experience with water treatment systems is a plus.
