Position Overview :
The successful candidate will 8 years providing expert legal counsel to a diverse range of healthcare clients on complex billing and reimbursement matters, including compliance with federal and state regulations related to Medicare, Medicaid, and VA / Tricare. This role requires a strong understanding of federal fraud and abuse laws and the ability to guide clients through the intricacies of healthcare compliance.
Responsibilities :
- Advise healthcare entities (physicians, hospitals, AMCs, home health agencies, SNFs, etc.) on all aspects of healthcare billing and reimbursement, including : Medicare, Medicaid, and VA / Tricare regulations, Enrollment and claims submission processes, Coding and documentation requirements, Payment disputes and appeals
- Provide counsel on structuring business relationships to ensure compliance with : The Anti-Kickback Statute, The Stark Law, The False Claims Act
- Develop and implement compliance programs to mitigate risk and ensure adherence to relevant regulations.
- Conduct internal investigations and represent clients in government audits and investigations.
- Monitor and analyze changes in healthcare legislation and regulations.
- Collaborate with other attorneys and professionals within the firm to provide comprehensive legal services to clients.
- Preferred) Experience with private payor billing and reimbursement.
