Thinkpath Engineering Services is looking for a Tool & Die Design Engineer to fill a direct opportunity located in Troy, OH.
Job Description
The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and improving tooling and dies for metal forming presses to meet our customers’ manufacturing and production requirements. This role requires strong expertise in engineering design, CAD software, and a deep understanding of machining processes and materials.
· Design and develop precision tooling and dies for use in metal forming presses using CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks).
· Create 3D models and detailed drawings for tooling and dies for use in metal forming presses.
· Collaborate with production and engineering teams to ensure tooling and dies meet specifications and manufacturing requirements.
· Conduct feasibility studies and analyze design challenges to propose effective solutions.
· Ensure designs comply with quality standards, safety regulations, and project deadlines.
· Oversee prototype development and conduct testing to validate tool and die performance.
Qualifications
· Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Tool & Die Design, or a related field.
· Proven experience (3 years) in tool and die design or related manufacturing roles.
· Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar).
· Strong understanding of machining processes, metallurgy, and materials science.
· Familiarity with GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing).
· Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
· Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
