Job Summary
The Manager of Data Management will lead the development, implementation, and management of the bank’s data strategy to ensure data integrity, security, and accessibility across the organization. This role requires a strategic leader with a strong understanding of data governance, compliance, and analytics to support the bank’s growth and operational efficiency. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing data quality, implementing data management systems, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to leverage data for decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
- Data Strategy Development: Develop and implement a comprehensive data management strategy aligned with the bank’s goals and regulatory requirements.
- Establish and enforce data governance frameworks, policies, and procedures to ensure data quality, security, and compliance with industry standards and regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA).
- Oversee processes for data cleansing, validation, and accuracy, ensuring that data used for decision-making is reliable and up to date.
- Manage the implementation, maintenance and support of data management platforms, tools, and software used for data storage, analysis, and reporting.
- Lead and mentor a team of data professionals, providing guidance on best practices in data management, governance, and analytics.
- Partner with key stakeholders from IT and Business departments to ensure data is effectively leveraged for operational and strategic initiatives.
- Ensure data handling complies with federal and state regulations, particularly those related to the banking industry, such as the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act (GLBA).
- Collaborate with analytics teams to provide accurate, timely, and relevant data insights for executive decision-making.
- Oversee data migration efforts during system upgrades or new system implementations, ensuring data integrity throughout the process.
- Identify potential risks related to data management, security, and privacy, and implement measures to mitigate them
Skills and Qualifications
- 5 years of experience in data management, data governance, or data analytics within the banking or financial services industry.
- Experience managing a team of IT Professionals or Analysts.
- Experience with data governance frameworks and compliance in a regulated industry.
- Knowledge of data management platforms, such as SQL, ETL processes, data warehousing, and database administration.
- Familiarity with data governance tools and best practices.
- Proficiency in data analysis and reporting tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).
- Understanding of relevant data privacy regulations (e.g., GLBA, CCPA, PCI).
- Excellent leadership, communication, and project management skills.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
- Ability to work collaboratively across teams and manage multiple priorities.
