Position Overview:
We are seeking a Key Accounts Manager to oversee and expand our presence in the New York Metropolitan area. The ideal candidate is passionate about wine, well-versed in the three-tier system, and skilled at cultivating relationships with key on- and off-premise accounts.
Key Responsibilities:
- Account Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with key accounts to meet sales goals and align with brand strategies.
- Sales Strategy: Develop and implement strategic plans to achieve sales targets, grow distribution, and enhance market share.
- Portfolio Advocacy: Educate and engage customers about our portfolio, emphasizing the unique attributes of each wine.
- Market Analysis: Stay ahead of industry trends, monitor competitor activity, and identify market opportunities to inform management.
- Collaboration: Work closely with internal sales management, marketing, and distributor teams to ensure seamless execution of promotions and product launches.
- Reporting: Provide regular insights on sales performance, market trends, and account feedback to senior leadership.
Qualifications:
- Experience: 3–5 years in wine sales or key account management, preferably in the New York Metro market.
- Industry Knowledge: Comprehensive understanding of the wine industry, including market dynamics, distribution channels, and regulatory considerations.
- Skills: Exceptional communication, negotiation, and presentation abilities, with a track record of relationship-building success.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field is preferred.
- Preferred Credentials: Strong preference for candidates with WSET or CMS certification.
- Relevant Experience: Prior experience with MS Walker is highly desirable.
Compensation and Benefits:
- Salary: $70,000–$90,000 annually, with an additional ~20% in performance-based incentives, paid quarterly or monthly depending on program timing.
