Currently, we are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Dentist.  As a dentist at Third Street, you will provide comprehensive dental care to patients in order to promote oral health and well-being. You will work within a health care team to ensure the delivery of high-quality dental services. Duties will involve diagnosing and treating various dental conditions, performing preventive care, and educating patients on proper oral hygiene practices. You will also collaborate with other health care professionals to coordinate patient care and promote holistic health. Compliance with clinic protocols, regulatory standards, and the maintenance of accurate patient records will be essential in this role.

Essential Job Duties:

  • Oral Health Assessment and Diagnosis: Conduct thorough oral examinations to assess patients' dental health, diagnose dental conditions, and develop appropriate treatment plans. This includes evaluating patients' medical history, dental X-rays, and other diagnostic tools to determine oral health needs.

  • Endodontics and Periodontics: Provide root canal treatments, periodontal therapy, and other specialized procedures related to the treatment of dental pulp, gums, and surrounding tissues. Manage complex cases involving infections, abscesses, and advanced periodontal disease.
  • Oral Surgery: Perform tooth extractions, including impacted teeth and simple surgical procedures. Collaborate with oral surgeons for more complex surgical cases that require specialized expertise.
  • Pediatric Dentistry: Provide dental care to children and adolescents, including preventive services, restorative treatments, and oral health education. Create a child-friendly environment to ensure positive dental experiences for young patients.
  • Patient Management and Communication: Establish and maintain effective communication with patients, explaining dental procedures, treatment options, and post-treatment care. Address patients' concerns, alleviate dental anxiety, and promote a supportive and compassionate dental practice environment.
  • Electronic Health Records (EHR): Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records using electronic health record systems. Document treatment plans, procedures, and patient interactions following HIPAA regulations and health center guidelines.
  • Collaboration and Referrals: Collaborate with other health care providers within the clinic, such as primary care physicians, pharmacists, and mental health professionals, to deliver comprehensive and coordinated care. Make referrals to external specialists when necessary.
  • Quality Assurance and Compliance: Adhere to established clinical protocols, infection control standards, and regulatory requirements to ensure high-quality care and patient safety. Participate in quality improvement initiatives, dental program evaluations, and compliance audits as required by the health center including peer reviews.
