Job Title: Optometrist- Part-time
Location: Malabar Intermediate School
Position Type: Extremely Part-Time, 1-2 days per month maximum

Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive eye exams for students of all ages, assessing visual acuity, eye health, and overall ocular function.
- Diagnose and treat common eye conditions, including but not limited to refractive errors, dry eyes, and conjunctivitis.
- Provide recommendations for corrective lenses, including glasses and contact lenses, and coordinate the fitting and ordering process as needed.
- Collaborate with the school nurse, other healthcare professionals, and staff to promote eye health awareness.
- Maintain accurate and confidential patient records in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Provide referrals to specialists or follow-up care when necessary.
Hours & Schedule:
- This is an extremely part-time position, requiring a few hours per month based on student need. Flexible scheduling is available to accommodate your availability.
Compensation:
- $100 per hour
Requirements
Qualifications
- Meet all requirements for Licensed Independent Practitioner (LIP) credentialing
- Doctor of Optometry (OD) degree from a college or university accredited by the Accreditation Council on Optometric Education of the American Optometric Association.
- Valid state license to practice optometry and DEA registration.
- Board certification or eligibility for board certification by the American Board of Optometry or similar certifying body.
