Reports To: Product Quality Leader

Position Summary: A Product Quality Engineer is a member of the Product Quality Team. For this position the concentration is testing Production Module, machining optimization software. The Product Quality Engineer analyzes testing results and provides technical information about each software package to Development and Product Management. In addition, the Product Quality Engineer is responsible for creating more efficient software testing techniques and ensures frequent, productive communication.

Major Job Accountabilities:

Increase Efficiency and Grow Automation

• Identify new and more efficient ways to develop and test Production Module
• Build and utilize automated tools to run testing batteries
• Constantly Improve and Streamline Processes within the Organization
• Release Preparation and Testing
• Evaluate and provide feedback on feature specifications and requirements
• Effectively summarize and communicate the status of product releases
• Create and execute test plans for new features
• Document defects found within the software
• Validate changes made to the software
• Perform regression testing
• Work with Developers and Product Management to convey current software weaknesses and determine the best plan of action
• Develop metrics and provide reports to management that highlight key issues or trends
• Help determine priorities for software fixes and enhancements
• Create and update user manuals or other training documents
• Build and manage repositories of test cases
• Build and maintain key internal relationships with developers and applications engineers to facilitate efficient customer problem resolution
• Participate in release, group, and project meetings
• Software Verification Testing
• Help determine ways to create verification cases
• Create verification cases for new features as part of standard release testing
• Participate in verification meetings
  
  
  

Requirements


Required (Knowledge, Skills & Abilities):

• Experience testing software
• Knowledge and familiarity with machining processes, tooling, and toolpaths
• Experience with CAE/CAD/CAM software (e.g., CATIA, Siemens NX, Pro-Engineer, Ansys, ABAQUS, Tecplot, VTK, Para View etc.)
• Computer programming experience (MATLAB, Perl, C , Java, Python, C, .Net, etc.)
• Ability to build relationships and work collaboratively across the organization
• Strong written and oral communication skills
• Motivated individual who is driven to make continuous improvement sand can thrive without significant direct supervision
• Passion for learning and contributing towards collective goals
• Proven ability to work well within a team and across the organization
• Interest in engineering/scientific computation software development
  
  
  

Preferred (Knowledge, Skills & Abilities):

• Experience with GUI design
• Experience with Unit Testing, Test Driven Development
• Interest in working with commercial customers and real-world problems
• Knowledge and familiarity with FEM software or CAE analysis
• Familiarity with Jira, Jenkins, and Git
  
  
  

Education:

• Bachelor's degree or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Software Engineer or Computer Science
  
  
  

Salary:

• $68,000 - $78,000 base salary
