What we do:
Third Way Center is seeking full time mental health counselors to work as members of a multidisciplinary treatment team at one of our residential facilities working with high risk youth ages 13-20. We are looking for a creative and dynamic set of people who like to be challenged and seek to learn and better themselves professionally and personally. Our mission is to provide a continuum of services in a home-like environment where at-risk youth can work through their traumas, learn to take responsibility for their actions and lives to become productive members of society.
Our MHC's are active members of the treatment team that carry out our programmatic goals as well as work with the youth on their own treatment goals.
What you do:
Milieu Management Responsibilities:
Milieu management is essential as a member of Third Way Center’s treatment team. This includes actively engaging in the milieu and monitoring the residents on a continual basis. Guiding them in daily living activities and schedules, having an ongoing understanding of the state of the milieu, and recognizing that behaviors are clues is important to keeping the program safe. This is done through active engagement, role modeling, having a voice, putting words to behaviors, developing a safe, structured milieu, etc. It is important for the mental health counselor to have an understanding of each resident's treatment plan, and be able to provide counseling and crisis intervention when needed. Attendance in weekly staff meetings is required as well as weekly supervision meetings with a primary therapist. The mental health counselor is expected to seek guidance from and have ongoing communication with therapists, treatment leaders and senior staff as needed.
Administrative Responsibilities:
Documentation of daily progress notes is expected to be completed daily. Other duties include assisting with the residents’ intake process, setting up new files, ongoing organization of existing files, tracking, and medication management and documentation. Household duties include grocery shopping with the residents, assisting with and modeling completion of chores and transporting residents to and from school and other appointments. Working as a team with constant communication is essential in keeping the program running smoothly and safely.

Qualifications
What's needed:
Minimum Requirements: Bachelor's degree or equivalent in social work or related field. Can substitute two years of experience for educational requirements. The candidate must also possess a current valid Colorado driver's license, have a clean driving (no DUI/DWAI in the last five years) and criminal record, be at least 22 years of age and have the ability to obtain QMAP, and CPR/First Aid certification. Additionally, the candidate must pass an extensive background and DMV check as well. We follow Federal Drug Screening laws. Must be fully vaccinated for COVID-19.
Schedule: We are residential treatment and thus are open 24/7/365. Schedules include evening and weekend hours.
