Job Overview: 

We are looking for an experienced and highly motivated Ontology Specialist to join our team, focusing on the ontology layer within Palantir. The ideal candidate will play a critical role in ensuring that data across various systems is correctly mapped, structured, and optimized for use in Palantir's complex data analytics ecosystem. You will work with data architects, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless data export and integration processes, leveraging your expertise in semantic data modeling and ontology management. 

Key Responsibilities: 

Ontology Design and Management: Design, manage, and refine the ontology layer of Palantir, ensuring that it supports accurate data modeling, classification, and semantic interoperability across different data sources.

Data Export Strategy: Lead the development and execution of data export strategies, ensuring that data from various sources is efficiently transferred and transformed into Palantir's platform. 

Collaboration: Work closely with internal teams (engineering, data science, and business stakeholders) to gather requirements, understand data flows, and integrate new data sources into the Palantir ecosystem. 

Data Mapping & Transformation: Develop and manage data mapping techniques, ensuring data is appropriately transformed, normalized, and structured for seamless integration into Palantir’s system. 

Tooling & Automation: Contribute to the development and enhancement of internal tools to automate and streamline the ontology management and data export process. 

Governance & Quality Assurance: Implement and enforce best practices for data governance, including metadata management, data lineage, and documentation, ensuring high-quality data is exported to the platform.

Troubleshooting & Optimization: Identify and troubleshoot any issues related to the ontology layer, improving performance and ensuring data consistency across all integrated sources. 

Innovation & Best Practices: Stay up to date with the latest trends and best practices in semantic data modeling, ontology frameworks, and data export tools to drive continuous improvement. 

Qualifications: 

Education: Bachelor’s or master's degree in computer science, Data Science, Engineering, or a related field. 

Experience: 

3 years of experience working with Palantir (Foundry or Gotham), with specific experience in the ontology layer, data integration, or related areas. 

Experience in semantic web technologies, RDF, OWL, SPARQL, or similar ontology-related technologies. 

Solid understanding of data modeling, metadata management, and integration best practices. 

Technical Skills: 

Proficiency in data integration and export technologies, ETL processes, and data transformation tools. 

Familiarity with data modeling concepts such as graphs, schemas, and relationships. 

Experience with programming/scripting languages like Python, Java, or similar. 

Problem-Solving & Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with the ability to manage and optimize complex data architectures. 

Communication & Collaboration: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders and work effectively in cross-functional teams. 

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with Palantir Foundry or Gotham platforms in a hands-on capacity. 

Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) and distributed data systems. 

Expertise in designing and implementing advanced data workflows in enterprise environments.
