What We Are Looking For

The Director of Design is responsible for conceptualizing, designing and developing innovative products that fill a white space in the market and attract a new customer. This creative leader is strategic, partnering closely with Merch / Planning and Sourcing / Production to bring products to market on time and within budget. They are responsible for partnering with Creative & Marketing to ensure product intent is communicated and ultimately brought to life in new and exciting ways. They will work closely with the Sr. Director and Chief Creative Officer on building the future product strategies and communicating the vision with the company, ensuring the entire team is product obsessed. This person is nimble and can work up, down and across, not only bringing design expertise in bras and underwear, but also a deep understanding of product construction, materials, production limitations and fit to their role. They will not only be responsible for leading a small talented team of designers and product developers, they will also design collections, remaining hands-on through the entire process.

What You Will Own And How You Will Make A Difference

• Effectively source, hire and manage a team of high performers to meet company goals
• Lead category level design and development all the way through fit and final approval
• Work fluidly with overseas vendors, identifying and leveraging both internal and external capabilities in order to achieve the best result
• Create vendor specific agile processes, traveling to Asia to work with vendors in real time in order to achieve quality, fit and speed
• Create and manage product timelines, assessing risks and partnering with MP and SP to deliver products on time and within cost
• Travel domestically identifying emerging trends across the competitor landscape, presenting observations and recommendations quarterly
• Analyze sales, returns and product performance, refining and improving assortment across categories
• Partner with Merchandising, Retail and CX to create deep product obsession company wide
• Collaborate and communicate effectively with cross-functional teams and external partners to ensure business needs are met
• Various other tasks and duties as assigned or needed

Compensation

Annual base salary range of 120-150K
