About BU AME and Operations & Technical team
BU AME covers Australia, Indonesia, India, Pakistan, Malaysia, Thailand, Japan, UAE and Saudi Arabia. The majority of our businesses are joint ventures between Vopak and local partners. Our BU AME team is primarily based in Singapore. Our Operations & Technical team in BU AME is accountable for safety & sustainability, service, operations and maintenance aspect. This team works cross functionally at BU level, and with their Global and Terminal counterparts.

Your core responsibilities are :
Strategic Planning
Develop tactical plans to drive our terminals individually towards an increasing level of operational excellence.Drive consistency of service across terminals, ensuring setting of clear expectations for relevant service KPIs, and maximizing the use of data to create visibility.Development and implementation of strategies to enhance knowledge and capabilities to :Handle transition fuels such as bio-fuels, LNG etc;Pursue carbon reduction;Grow new energies footprint e.g. ammonia, hydrogen.Development and implementation of strategies to increase bench strength in the Operations domain. Ensure that succession planning is in place for critical positions such as TM, OM, CSM etc.Safety, Health, Environment and Quality
Ensure a safe and healthy working environment for employees as well as contractors / service providers.Drive continuous improvement & SHEQ leadership values in our BU as well as terminal organization. Ensure that we have a good overview on safety risk across our network, and that organizations with such risk will have an improvement plan which will be monitored.Use of Vopak programs and initiatives such as T&V to proactively identify gaps, facilitate assessment to determine safety gaps in our operational procedures etc., ultimately to identify potential problems before they occur.Operations and Service Excellence
Ensure that terminals operate per the key operational processes A2D, O2I etc. Assist terminals in closing key gaps.Ensure that terminals operate per Vopak standards. Assist terminals in closing key gaps.Develop and share terminal management expertise e.g. having an effective structure, having a good operating rhythm, ensuring performance is monitored, and improvements, if any, are implemented.Drive & contribute to cost effectiveness.Act as the linking pin between terminals to share experiences, best practices, and resources.People development :Develop and implement programs to enhance competency in operations.Continuous improvement to ensure a high level of operational discipline.Create platforms and opportunities for expert user groups to share knowledge, and for the network to draw upon.Due Diligence
Execution of due diligence and technical assessments of installations in support of business development and market initiatives in investments in accordance to Vopak standards and in alignment with global policy.Project Development
For BU driven projects, act as Internal Customer during the identification and selection phase, and thereafter assist in resourcing and setting up of the project team / project organization.Ensure governance to ensure projects progress according to VPM, and ensure that projects are reviewed for operability / maintainability / safety.Ensure project readiness and commissioning. Support terminals to ensure that operations are setup, equipped and trained to operate.Representation
Represent the division to contribute to the organization image and represent its interests before relevant stakeholders (government, customers, competitors, media).What are your core deliverables?
BU flawless execution.Level of satisfaction, follow-up and closure rate.Quality, timeliness, and cost of project delivery.Vopak Policy & Standards implementation.BU Capex & Opex performance KPIs.Direct and indirect staff development.Influence / direct out functional roles with the BU and with Global.Lead the decision making of :BU Opex strategies and objectives.Major project implementation, operational and SHEQ overseeing for AME BU.The governance of Operating Companies in the division regarding corporate Opex initiatives & projects.The right advice provision to internal and external stakeholders.What do we expect from you as a Director, Operations?
Degree in Engineering or related field.15-20 years work experience with a proven track record.Demonstrated ability in leading and driving organizational change efforts.Demonstrated leadership and people management skills.Global mindset coupled with cultural sensitivity.Strong business acumen and analytical ability.Strong Project Management with Risk Management ability.Strong operational excellence background in related industry.Excellent interpersonal & communication skills with good proficiency in English.Want to start as Director, Operations at Vopak?
