Be part of our diverse and inclusive team. At Marina Bay Sands, the Solution Architect is responsible for the architecture and design of technology solutions.
Main Tasks
Assists in the implementation of new solutions based on business requirements and IT strategies.
Develop a 4 1 architecture views of the solution.
Develop the system architecture covering server, compute, and storage.
Develop the architecture to address the non-functional requirements such as scalability, availability, performance, flexibility, and security.
Actively drive and direct solution discussion as a technical delivery member.
Be responsible for ensuring the delivery of the solution and assigning specific tasks.
Assess and decide on the direction of solutions based on impact analysis and experience, especially when there is project delivery risk in functionality and schedule.
Drive the solution design discussion to derive the best solution design during the solution design phase.
Review documentation prepared by the Business Architect, Integration Architect, Infrastructure Architect, and vendors.
Keep up-to-date on the latest security best practices for IT development.
Keep up-to-date with the latest technological trends in relation to infrastructure, especially on various cloud-based managed services.
Maintain accurate documents of the work done for reporting and accountability.
Provide regular project updates to stakeholders.
Job Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree in a related field or equivalent experience is preferred.
At least 8 years of IT experience, with a minimum of 1-3 years demonstrating management and technical leadership experience.
Expert knowledge of the following technologies : designing and implementing data center high availability, VMware, vSAN, HCI, and enterprise network / campus network.
Good understanding of network topologies, protocols, and standards, with subject matter experience in multi-vendor products - Cisco, HP, Brocade, routers, wireless, firewall, IPS / IDS, and switches.
Experience creating system and network-related Bill of Material (BOM) equipment lists and costing / budgeting.
Knowledge of compute hardware UCS, HP, Dell. SAN storage DellEMC, HP, PureStorage. NAS storage EMC ISILON, NetApp.
Experience in data center design, DR solution, active-active cluster setup.
Experience with cloud technology, AWS, Azure, GCP.
Experience with operating systems, Windows, Linux.
Experience with container technologies like Kubernetes, Docker, etc.
Experience with Ansible and Terraform.
Deep understanding and experience in migration from cloud to on-premises and vice versa.
Hands-on experience with at least 2 / 3 hypervisors.
Hands-on experience with TCP / IP networking with Cisco / multi-vendor products.
Comprehensive knowledge in designing SDDC (Software Defined Data Center).
In-depth knowledge of virtualization technologies, virtual switches, virtual storage, and cloud service modeling.
Clear understanding of networking, blade / rack server, unified storage, and converged systems.
Capacity to understand and evaluate multi-vendor product offerings.
At least 5 years of hands-on software programming and architecture experience.
At least 3 years of hands-on business data and process architecture experience.
Experience in application architecture of Microsoft technology stack.
Experience in deriving holistic logical and physical diagrams.
Experience in architecture and design using UML.
Exposure to infrastructure sizing for applications and web application security.
Knowledge of Agile software development process methodologies.
Ability to communicate with business clients in non-technical terms.
Good written and oral communication skills.
